The Challenge

A major telecommunications infrastructure group manages a high volume of complex construction and deployment projects using Site Tracker in Salesforce. Each project involves multiple related records, Projects, Tasks, and Milestones, spread across the system, with metrics such as task counts and project durations requiring manual calculation from raw data.
Project managers and field teams needed fast, clear status snapshots, particularly during client check-ins, internal standups, and executive reporting sessions. But getting those snapshots required navigating through multiple screens, cross-referencing records, and doing manual arithmetic. Under pressure in real-time meetings, this was simply not workable.
The organisation needed a way for anyone, including non-technical stakeholders, to get an instant, accurate project status using the simplest possible input: a plain English question.
The Solution

We deployed a conversational Agentforce agent equipped with a specialised "Project Insight" topic and a tailored Prompt Template. Users interact with the agent using entirely natural language, questions like "What's the duration and task breakdown for Project 1042?" are understood and actioned immediately.
Behind the scenes, the agent queries the Site Tracker data model in real-time using Agentforce Actions. It retrieves core project fields, counts related tasks and milestones, computes total project duration, and identifies critical path items including the shortest and longest tasks. The results are returned as a structured, easy-to-read summary, in seconds.
Because the agent operates entirely within Salesforce and Agentforce's native framework, it requires no external integrations, no additional data exports, and no specialist technical knowledge to use.
